Role Summary

Candescent is transforming digital banking with a modern, AI-powered platform that empowers financial institutions to deliver smarter, faster, and more personalized customer experiences. We’re seeking a talented Staff Engineer Quality to lead our integrations product quality across core banking, card processors and other third-party systems. This role will be instrumental in helping Candescent manage the quality of our offerings that connect to third-party systems, which are the backbone of our platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute Candescent’s integration vision aligned with product and platform strategy.
  • Partner with Product and Engineering test scalable integration capabilities Ensure high quality of new and existing features in the Integrations product Create and maintain API and UI automation test scripts using frameworks such as Postman, selenium or equivalent
  • Familiarity with DevOps concepts and automated build tools such as Katalon. Participation in design reviews of new features and partnering closely with rest of team Stay up to date with new technologies and industry trends
  • Participate in requirements gathering and documentation
  • Set and follow core engineering processes to ensure software code quality Live and breathe the agile mindset and work in a fast-paced scrum environment Support critical production issues
  • Be a mentor to all engineers • Ensure we are following the automate everything mindset.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in quality engineering, with at least 4 years in testing third party vendor integration.
  • Deep expertise in testing core banking & card processor systems.
  • Hands-on experience working with third-party interfaces to test scalable software.
  • Strong technical, trouble shooting and decision-making skills.
  • Thorough understanding of large-scale system non-functional characteristics - performance, scalability, availability and security.
  • Understand the upstream and downstream systems, design the transformation of the data between the systems that can be leveraged by multiple clients Strong knowledge of HTTP, TCP, and other protocols, including secure connectivity mechanisms and standards.
  • • Knowledge of Programming languages such as Java, C++ or python. • Knowledge of financial industry security standards like PCI, SOX •
  • Knowledge of effective quality testing for various integrations. •
  • Good knowledge of financial industry standards, such as ISO, IFX, FDX is desirable •
  • Financial domain knowledge, Banking domain knowledge, systems are required. • Excellent leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
