Job Overview

We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Director of Sales Operations to lead and scale our sales operations function. This role will be responsible for optimizing sales effectiveness through data-driven decision-making, rigorous performance analysis, and strategic territory and quota design. The ideal candidate will be a business partner to sales leadership, helping drive disciplined growth through operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales Planning & Strategy

  • Lead the annual and quarterly sales planning process, including headcount planning, territory mapping, and quota setting
  • Develop and maintain equitable, scalable territory and quota models aligned to business goals
  • Drive alignment between Sales, Finance, and Executive Leadership to ensure consistent forecasting and planning

Performance Management & KPI Reporting

  • Design and manage reporting frameworks to track sales performance across teams, segments, and regions
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs), including pipeline metrics, conversion rates, productivity, and attainment
  • Present insights and trends to senior leadership to support strategic decision-making and course corrections

Sales Forecasting & Insights

  • Support the sales forecasting process by consolidating data, analyzing trends, and identifying risks and opportunities
  • Partner with sales leaders to understand drivers of performance and develop data-backed action plans
  • Deliver regular reporting packages for executive review, board meetings, and revenue leadership

Process Optimization & Operational Support

  • Identify and implement process improvements to reduce friction in the sales cycle and increase team efficiency
  • Standardize best practices in sales methodology, pipeline management, and performance tracking
  • Serve as a thought partner to sales leadership on operational strategy, incentive design, and growth readiness

Team Leadership

  • Manage and develop a high-performing sales operations team
  • Promote a culture of data literacy, continuous improvement, and accountability
  • Mentor team members and foster career development within the function

What You’ll Need To Succeed

  • 8+ years of progressive experience in Sales Operations or Business Operations within a B2B environment
  • 3+ years of experience in a leadership capacity with team management responsibilities
  • Proven track record in territory and quota planning, performance management, and sales forecasting
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights
  • Excellent communication skills with experience presenting to senior stakeholders and cross-functional partners
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field (MBA a plus)

Additionally, You May Have

  • Deep understanding of B2B sales models and performance levers
  • Experience supporting direct and indirect sales teams
  • Strong business acumen and a data-first mindset
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity in a high-growth, fast-paced environment
