Job Summary:

The Physical Security Manager is responsible for ensuring a safe and secure environment for employees, visitors, and assets. This role involves planning, implementing, and managing all aspects of physical security for the organization, including overseeing security systems, managing security staff, conducting risk assessments, and responding to incidents. The Physical Security Manager works closely with other departments to promote a culture of security awareness and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Security Planning and Strategy

Develop and implement security policies, procedures, and strategies.

Conduct regular risk assessments and vulnerability analysis to identify potential threats and areas of improvement.

2. Security Operations

Oversee day-to-day physical security operations, including access control, surveillance, and alarm systems.

Coordinate with law enforcement and emergency services as necessary.

3. System Management

Oversee the installation, maintenance, and monitoring of security equipment, including CCTV, alarms, and access control systems.

Regularly inspect and test security systems to ensure functionality and efficiency.

4. Incident Management and Response

Develop and execute incident response plans for potential emergencies such as fire, natural disasters, or security breaches.

Investigate security incidents, document findings, and provide recommendations to prevent recurrence.

Serve as the primary point of contact during security incidents and emergencies.

5. Compliance and Reporting

Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as internal security policies.

Prepare and present reports on security incidents, risks, and recommendations to senior management.

Maintain records of security incidents and activities.

6. Training and Awareness

Conduct security awareness training programs for employees.

Promote a culture of security awareness throughout the organization.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Experience: 5+ years in a security management role, with experience in physical security, risk management, or law enforcement.

Certifications (preferred): Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Physical Security Professional (PSP), or similar credentials.

Skills:

Strong understanding of security technology and systems.

Excellent leadership and team management abilities.

Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Proficiency in relevant security software and technology.

Effective communication and presentation skills.
