Job Summary: Candescent is currently searching for a highly motivated and experienced Senior Executive Assistant to support our Chief Information Officer (CIO) and IT leadership team. This role is a hybrid of strategic partnership and high-level administrative excellence. The individual will manage a complex calendar, handle sensitive communications, coordinate global travel and events, prepare necessary documents, and act as a trusted advisor and gatekeeper to the CIO.

The ideal candidate will be an organized, proactive professional capable of balancing tactical execution with strategic insight—anticipating needs, driving key initiatives, and enabling the CIO to focus on enterprise-wide leadership priorities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive support to the CIO, managing an extremely active calendar of appointments, meetings, and travel arrangements.
  • Act as a point of contact between the CIO, executives, internal and external stakeholders, maintaining professionalism and discretion.
  • Proactively manage global travel arrangements, booking each trip completely and in advance, ensuring optimal timing and best pricing.
  • Respond to meeting requests and ensure scheduling within 48 hours of receipt.
  • Manage confidential correspondence, including drafting emails, memos, and executive-level communications on behalf of the CIO.
  • Organize and maintain files and documents for executive-level events such as board meetings, leadership offsites, and town halls.
  • Translate the CIO’s strategic priorities into actionable objectives for the IT leadership team, ensuring accountability and progress tracking.
  • Drive preparation for Board-level, ELT, and cross-functional leadership meetings, equipping the CIO with insights to make informed decisions.
  • Anticipate CIO’s needs by surfacing risks and providing recommendations.
  • Own select high-impact projects or workstreams, driving them from conception through implementation.
  • Represent the CIO in meetings as appropriate, ensuring continuity of decision-making and follow-through.
  • Coordinate IT town halls, global communications, and leadership offsites, ensuring consistent messaging and flawless execution.
  • Maintain a pulse on organizational health, team morale, and culture within IT; recommend actions to improve engagement and retention.
  • Foster collaboration across diverse groups of professionals, including C-Suite leaders, board members, venture capital LT members, senior executives, staff, clients, and third-party vendors.
  • Implement and maintain office systems and processes that improve organizational efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years supporting C-level executives, ideally in a technology-driven or global environment.
  • Proven track record supporting CIOs or senior technology leaders in a fast-paced, high-growth setting.
  • Strong project management experience, with the ability to drive enterprise-wide initiatives and cross-functional alignment.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office Suite and collaboration tool skills (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Exceptional organizational skills and impeccable attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex concepts into executive-ready deliverables.
  • Adept at multitasking, managing competing priorities, and meeting deadlines.
  • Comfortable working independently while also thriving in a collaborative team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence without authority and build trusted relationships across all levels of an organization.
