The Product Agilist enables agility across a product that is delivered by multiple Agile Teams. This role ensures that flow, alignment, and continuous improvement are established at the product level. Acting as the facilitator of cross-team events and a coach for product, design and engineering leadership, the Product Agilist drives the product transformation, orchestrates planning and delivery across teams, resolves systemic impediments, leads risk management, and ensures that practices are consistent with organizational standards.
Key Responsibilities
Facilitate product-level Program Increment (PI) Planning, Inspect & Adapt workshops, Release Management and Work Intake Management.
Lead transformation and execution of a Product (team of teams).
Support alignment across multiple Agile Teams by making dependencies visible, escalating systemic impediments, manage cross-team risks, and driving coordinated delivery.
Partner with Product, Design and Engineering Managers to ensure clarity of priorities, effective planning, and risk mitigation.
Serve as a member of the Product Leadership Team (PLT).
Help the Product team integrate with the Portfolio and navigate complexity.
Collaborate with Portfolio Leadership to drive Product and Portfolio success.
Coach Product Managers in effective Agile road-mapping and backlog management.
Collaborate with the Lead Agilist to ensure practices are consistent with organizational standards and framework.
Guide Team Agilists in applying Agile practices consistently and effectively within their teams.
Drive visibility into product-level metrics, predictability, and performance, enabling data-driven decisions. Maintain transparency through regular communication of agile outcomes and impediments to stakeholders.
Apply and improve organizational standards and identify opportunities for change.
Actively participate in the Agilists Community of Practice (CoP) to share learnings and promote continuous improvement, leading areas of our practice transformation.
Coach the Product Leadership Team in Agile principles and flow-based delivery.
Required Qualifications
7+ years of experience in Agile leadership, with at least 1 year having responsibility over an entire team-of-teams, agile program or product.
Proven success facilitating and aligning multiple teams around shared objectives and cadences.
Mastery of several Agile product, process and technical practices (Scrum, Kanban, XP, Crystal, Amplio).
Demonstrable experience with and operational knowledge of several team-of-teams Lean and Agile methods and scaling practices (Kanban, SAFe, LeSS, Nexus, ToC).
Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve systemic impediments impacting multiple teams.
Ability to clarify their product needs, challenges, and opportunities, articulate a transformation vision, and pursue it.
Skilled in facilitation, servant leadership, and conflict resolution.
Experience in product development (new product introduction and mature product sustaining).
Experience working with Product Managers and Engineering Managers in a technology-driven environment.
Skilled in using Agile metrics to inform decision-making and continuous improvement.
Coached senior leaders and stakeholders (director level and above preferred)
Led multi-team change initiatives and coached other facilitators and change agents
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in fintech, SaaS, or other fast-paced technology industries.
Familiarity with lean portfolio management and product governance practices.
