Demos Principal Engineer

Position Summary

We are seeking a Principal Engineer to define the architectural vision and lead the development of our demo environments, which are designed to closely reflect a dynamic, ever-evolving live production ecosystem. This role is responsible for establishing scalable, resilient, and maintainable architectures that enable high-fidelity product demonstrations and client walkthroughs.

As a senior technical leader, the Principal Engineer shapes the long-term strategy for demo platform architecture, ensuring environments remain secure, performant, data-driven, and aligned with the evolution of the core SaaS platform. The role provides cross-team technical leadership, guiding design decisions across product domains, reducing technical friction, and proactively managing dependencies to ensure demo capabilities remain accurate, future-proof, and representative of real-world use cases.

Team Overview

The Demos Team plays a critical role in showcasing our platform through high-impact, end-to-end product demonstrations. The team is responsible for building, maintaining, and presenting a test environment that closely mirrors the live production ecosystem. Team members will deliver tailored client walkthroughs that highlight real-world use cases, emerging capabilities, and differentiated value, requiring a balance of technical fluency, storytelling, and adaptability in a fast-changing environment.

Key Areas of Responsibility

• Own the end-to-end architectural vision for demo environments that accurately reflect production behavior while remaining scalable, secure, and easy to evolve
• Lead the design and delivery of a cohesive demo platform that supports reusable scenarios, rapid updates, and consistent client experiences
• Set architectural patterns and technical guardrails that enable realistic data flows, integrations, and system interactions across demo environments
• Establish and maintain standards for system design, observability, security, and developer/demo engineer experience, including sandboxing and documentation
• Define developer experience standards including sandbox environments, documentation, and onboarding flows
• Guide the incorporation of advanced capabilities such as AI-driven features, analytics, and personalization into demo environments in alignment with platform direction
• Evaluate new technologies and partner with infrastructure, security, and operations teams to ensure demo environments are reliable, compliant, and sustainable

Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience in software engineering and enterprise architecture
• Deep expertise in designing and managing API-first platforms and developer ecosystems
• Experience with fintech and banking standards including ISO 20022, Open Banking, and FDX
• Strong understanding of cloud-native technologies such as GCP, AWS, Kubernetes, containers, and service mesh
• Proficient in distributed systems, multi-tenancy, and event-driven architecture
• Hands-on experience integrating AI/ML into product and platform architecture
• Strong grasp of financial regulatory, security, and data compliance requirements
• Proven leadership in guiding high-performing engineering teams
• Expertise in SRE and DevOps practices including CI/CD tools like GitHub, Jenkins, and Google Cloud Build
• Strong collaboration and communication skills to lead cross-functional initiatives and articulate complex concepts
• Proven experience defining and leading architecture for complex, distributed systems, with the ability to balance production fidelity, scalability, and maintainability
• Experience designing developer-facing platforms or environments, such as sandboxes, reference implementations, or simulation/test environments
• Ability to operate effectively in fast-changing environments, translating evolving platform capabilities into stable, high-quality demo experiences
