Product Owner – Imaging

Position Summary

We are seeking talented product people to create exceptional customer experiences. The ideal candidates will be user-obsessed, driving PI planning and prioritizing product requirements to meet business goals. They will be writing and prioritizing stories in the product backlog, helping define acceptance criteria and driving product development across stakeholders.

Successful candidates must possess strategic planning skills, and the leadership ability to drive product development with cross-functional teams. In addition, they will support product profitability and performance reporting, help gather customer and user needs and most importantly demonstrate a deep understanding of the end user personas.

Product Area Summary

The imaging product owners focus on enabling and enhancing physical transactions, such as cash, checks, payments, and bonds. This includes supporting key channels including branches, ATMs, and check processing operations, while continuing to deliver value to our customers. The successful candidate will help us grow beyond on-premise solutions to a scalable SaaS model that appeals to financial institutions across all market segments, while enhancing risk and fraud protection through integrated workflows and advanced capabilities.

Key Areas of Responsibility

Product P&L and Pricing

  • Support product profitability and performance with product leadership, managing short and long-term outcomes of product portfolio including connection to roadmap, objectives, and investments

Product Strategy, Vision, and Planning

  • Helps gather customer / user needs and market research to help inform the product vision and strategy developed by the Product Manager
  • Utilizes product vision and research to define product features and prioritize the team’s backlog

Customer Experience Research, Insights, and Execution

  • Demonstrates deep understanding of customer / user through research and insights development (e.g., personas, journeys, product chartering)

Product Design and Development

  • Participates in PI planning to prioritize the product roadmap, which informs the team backlogs
  • Writes and prioritizes user stories in the product backlog with the team, focusing on user and business needs and technical requirements to achieve the identified objectives
  • Refines product backlog based on reprioritization and analysis of impact vs. effort
  • Defines acceptance criteria and validates features & user stories meet quality standards for users
  • Drives product development with the cross-functional team and actively engages stakeholders (e.g., PM, other POs, functions) where needed to manage issues / dependencies

Go-to-Market and Sales

  • Supports product leaders with enabling functions (e.g., marketing, sales, operations, etc.) to position and promote products to achieve business objectives

Channel Alignment / Management

  • Uses competitive, customer, market, and internal business priorities to define solutions (features and user stories) that drive customer interactions
  • Engages with shared channel platforms to deliver capabilities and deploy product features across channels (e.g., web, mobile, agent)

Adoption

  • Drives product demand, activation, and engagement based on customer experience research and insights and delivering product solutions that customers / users need

Marketing and Analytics

  • Supports marketing to define and execute the product’s marketing strategy, budget, and key performance indicators to drive growth

Performance Measurement and Optimization

  • Develops, analyzes, monitors, and reports on performance metrics at the product level to identify key trends and opportunities; uses insights to drive progress on identified strategies

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of related experience in software solutions/product management for fintech or banking industry experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in information technology management, computer science, business, software engineering or equivalent experience; master’s degree preferred
  • High energy level, strong organizational and multi-tasking skills to balance short, medium, and long-term objectives
  • Experience defining large-scale solutions architected for multi-tenant infrastructure and platform-as-a-service cloud computing environments
  • Experience defining product roadmaps based on abstract and detailed customer requirements, use cases, market analysis, and industry trends
  • Passion for and commitment to delivering effective solutions that improve services to customers
  • Strong and confident presentation and negotiation skills to interact with senior management, key customers, and partners in sales and issue resolution
  • Natural curiosity and self-motivation to stay current on technical trends and cost drivers that impact user experience and product performance

Product Specific Qualifications / Skillsets

  • Experience creating a new product from concept phase through managing its lifecycle
  • General understanding legacy on-premise applications and deployments
  • Experience leading product teams away from Waterfall processes towards Agile PDLC models
  • Technology related experience in deploying legacy solutions into SaaS and modern cloud environments
