Job Title: Sr. Corporate Counsel, Candescent

Location: Hyderabad or Bangalore

Sr. Corporate Counsel

Candescent works in a dynamic and collegial team of attorneys and contract managers with a mentoring approach from leadership. This position focuses on negotiating commercial contracts for Candescent’s procurement needs while balancing agility with risk management.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Negotiate vendor contracts

  • Exercise sound judgment in advising business clients on contract interpretation and risk

  • Develop contract templates to drive efficiencies

  • Assist with preparing detailed playbooks to frame risk profile for vendor contracts

  • Assist with implementing IronClad CLM

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to close contract terms with information security, sales, finance, and compliance teams

  • Opportunity for career development following demonstrated mastery of commercial contracts across a variety of legal needs, including partner engagements, advising on fintech regulatory compliance, employment law, corporate governance, and other areas of interest

BASIC REQUIREMENTS & EXPERIENCE:

  • J.D. from an accredited, top tier law school

  • Required:

  • 5+ years negotiating enterprise-level commercial SAAS contracts, including Data Protection Addendums and professional services agreements

  • Self-starter who works with urgency and proactively manages response timelines

  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills

  • Confidence and efficacy, presenting a positive and professional image

  • Team player with attention to detail

  • Travel not expected
