Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced and strategic Learning & Development Manager to join our team in Bangalore. This is a high-impact, globally-scoped role in which you will be responsible for designing, managing, and continuously improving L&D programs and charters across all of Candescent's regions. You will serve as a key thought partner to business leaders and HR stakeholders worldwide, ensuring our learning initiatives are aligned with organizational priorities and drive measurable outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Program Design & Management

  • Own the end-to-end lifecycle of global L&D programs — from needs analysis and curriculum design through delivery, evaluation, and iteration.
  • Develop and manage a global L&D calendar, ensuring programs are accessible to employees across time zones and regions.
  • Partner with subject-matter experts (SMEs) and external vendors to create and curate high-quality learning content.

AI Fluency & Learning Innovation

• Demonstrate a high degree of AI empathy — a genuine curiosity and hands-on comfort with AI tools, and an ability to anticipate how AI will reshape learning design, content creation, and employee development.

• Actively explore and pilot AI-powered L&D solutions — from AI-assisted content creation and personalised learning pathways to intelligent coaching tools — and advocate for their thoughtful adoption within the global L&D charter.

Global Charter Development

  • Develop and maintain the global L&D charter, articulating the philosophy, priorities, governance model, and success metrics for the function.
  • Ensure the charter reflects the needs of a diverse, global workforce while remaining adaptable to regional contexts.
  • Periodically review and refresh the charter in alignment with evolving business strategy.

Stakeholder Engagement & Consultation

  • Serve as a strategic L&D advisor to HR Business Partners, business leaders, and senior management across geographies.
  • Conduct learning needs assessments and training gap analyses at individual, team, and organizational levels.
  • Facilitate alignment sessions and workshops to co-create learning solutions with global stakeholders.

Learning Technology & Platforms

  • Manage and optimize the Learning Management System (LMS) and other digital learning platforms for global usage.
  • Identify and implement new learning technologies that enhance the employee learning experience.
  • Ensure seamless access and adoption of digital learning tools across the organization.

Measurement & Reporting

  • Define KPIs and evaluation frameworks (e.g., Kirkpatrick Model) to measure the effectiveness and ROI of L&D programs.
  • Prepare regular reports and dashboards for HR leadership and business stakeholders on L&D program performance.
  • Use data insights to drive continuous improvement across learning initiatives.

Leadership Development & Culture

  • Design and manage leadership development journeys, including programs for first-time managers, mid-level leaders, and senior leaders.
  • Champion a learning culture across the organization, driving engagement and self-directed development.
  • Support onboarding programs to ensure new joiners integrate effectively into the Candescent culture.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Education, Organizational Development, or a related field.
  • 7–10 years of progressive experience in Learning & Development, with at least 3 years in a manager or lead capacity.
  • Demonstrated experience managing L&D programs at a global or multi-regional scale.
  • Strong instructional design skills with proficiency in adult learning principles (e.g., ADDIE, Agile Learning Design).
  • Experience with LMS platforms (e.g., Cornerstone, Workday Learning, or similar).
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills - comfortable engaging with C-suite and senior leadership.
  • Data-driven mindset with experience using learning analytics to demonstrate impact.

Preferred

  • Master's degree or professional certifications such as ATD CPTD, CIPD, or Prosci (Change Management).
  • Experience in the technology industry or a fast-growing global organization.
  • Familiarity with e-learning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate 360, Adobe Captivate).
  • Exposure to coaching frameworks and talent development methodologies.
