Candescent is hiring a Sr. Financial Analyst who will play a critical role in supporting the company’s financial planning, analysis, and reporting activities. This position partners closely with business unit leaders and corporate stakeholders to provide analytical insights that inform financial performance and business decisions.

The role requires strong financial acumen, analytical thinking, and clear communication skills to support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic initiatives across the organization.

Key Responsibilities and Deliverables:

FP&A, Forecasting & Financial Reviews

  • Own monthly actuals vs. budget/forecast analysis across multiple departments (Technology, IT, Marketing, InfoSec, Sales, etc.)
  • Prepare clean, CFO‑ready variance explanations with clear drivers—not just reconciliations
  • Support rolling forecasts and reforecasts, including assumptions, scenario analysis, and risk identification
  • Build and maintain simple, durable financial models that load raw data without heavy manipulation

Spend Governance & Budget Discipline

  • Manage and maintain the out‑of‑budget request process, including:
  • Intake, tracking, documentation completeness, and committee‑ready summaries
  • Identification of missing business cases, ROI, or approvals
  • Serve as finance checkpoint for unplanned spend, ensuring alignment with funding strategy and policy
  • Track and summarize approvals for leadership and PE reporting

Vendor, Cloud & Tool Spend Oversight

  • Analyze vendor‑level spend and renewals (technology, SaaS, cloud, marketing tools, etc.)
  • Support cloud spend forecasting and optimization discussions with IT and engineering leaders
  • Identify consolidation, standardization, and cost‑optimization opportunities
  • Partner with Accounting and Procurement on invoice accuracy, coding, accruals, and timing

Executive & Stakeholder Support

  • Prepare executive‑level summaries, dashboards, and one‑page views for CFO, ELT, and committee reviews
  • Support cross‑functional monthly financial review meetings—ensure the right data, questions, and follow‑ups are ready
  • Translate financial findings into clear business implications for non‑finance leaders

Process & Control Enhancement

  • Improve trackers, templates, and workflows used for budgeting, forecasting, and spend tracking
  • Help enforce finance policies related to spend approvals, tool usage, and vendor management
  • Reduce manual rework and ambiguity through clarity and structure (without over‑engineering)

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in financial planning and analysis, corporate finance, or a related analytical role.
  • Strong understanding of financial statements, accounting principles, and financial modeling techniques.
  • Proficiency with financial systems and tools (e.g., ERP platforms, BI tools, advanced Excel).
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and critical‑thinking skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across functions.

Preferred Distinctions

  • Experience supporting fintech, SaaS, or high‑growth business environments (preferred but not required).
  • MBA or progress toward professional certifications such as CFA or CPA (preferred).
