Role Overview
This role owns and advances enterprise cloud financial management across AWS, Azure, and GCP, ensuring cloud investments are transparent, optimized, and aligned with business and architectural priorities. The position embeds FinOps practices, automation, and governance directly into cloud operations and engineering workflows to drive sustainable cost efficiency without sacrificing reliability, security, or delivery speed.
The role partners closely with Engineering, Platform, Security, Finance, Product, and Executive Leadership to translate complex cloud spend into actionable insights and informed decision‑making.
What You’ll Do
Cloud Financial Ownership & Optimization
  • Own end‑to‑end cloud financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and cost optimization across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
  • Drive measurable, sustained cloud cost reductions through usage analysis, rightsizing, storage and logging optimization, and close collaboration with Cloud Operations and Engineering teams.
  • Establish financial guardrails that balance cost efficiency, scalability, and platform reliability.
Cost Transparency & Governance
  • Design and maintain business unit, cost‑center, and application‑level cost attribution models to support chargeback/showback and executive transparency.
  • Define, mature, and automate FinOps processes, workflows, and tooling, embedding financial accountability into daily cloud operations and engineering practices.
  • Ensure financial impact is consistently evaluated during solution design, architectural decisions, and platform changes.
Reporting, Insights & Executive Partnership
  • Build and deliver executive‑level dashboards, reports, and narratives that translate cloud spend into clear financial and operational insights.
  • Partner with Finance and Executive Leadership to reconcile billing data, analyze trends, and provide timely insights aligned to business and operating cadence.
  • Support data‑driven prioritization of cloud investments across products and platforms.
Automation & Cross‑Functional Collaboration
  • Leverage Infrastructure‑as‑Code (Terraform) and automation to integrate FinOps controls into cloud provisioning and enablement pipelines.
  • Partner closely with Architecture, Platform, Security, Product, Enterprise Tools, and Managed Services providers to operationalize FinOps capabilities at scale.
  • Continuously improve financial visibility, forecasting accuracy, and cost controls across the cloud ecosystem.
How Success Is Measured
  • Improved accuracy, transparency, and trust in cloud cost attribution and reporting
  • Demonstrable and sustained cloud cost savings without negative impact to reliability, security, or delivery speed
  • FinOps processes embedded into standard cloud provisioning and operational workflows
  • Increased executive confidence in cloud financial data and investment decisions

  • Experience building executive‑level dashboards and financial narratives using cloud billing data
  • Proven ability to partner cross‑functionally with Engineering, Finance, Security, and senior leadership
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder‑management skills
Preferred
  • FinOps Practitioner or Professional certification
