- Support day-to-day network security operations across cloud and enterprise environments
- Assist with monitoring and maintaining security controls for network infrastructure (firewalls, routing, segmentation)
- Troubleshoot and resolve basic network and security issues, escalating when needed
- Apply and strengthen knowledge of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP and common protocols
- Assist with subnetting and IP address management, ensuring proper network segmentation and access control
- Support configuration and troubleshooting of IP routing and connectivity issues
- Participate in maintaining and troubleshooting DNS (Domain Name System) configurations and related services
- Collaborate with engineering teams to help implement secure network architecture and best practices
- Assist in reviewing logs and alerts related to network traffic and suspicious activity
- Document network configurations, processes, and troubleshooting steps
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field (or equivalent training/experience)
- 0–2 years of experience (internships, labs, or coursework in networking/security accepted)
- Foundational understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, OSI model)
- Basic knowledge of:
- Subnetting
- IP routing concepts
- DNS (Domain Name System) and basic troubleshooting
- Familiarity with networking tools or environments (academic lab, internships, or entry-level exposure)
- Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn in a hands-on environment
- Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Internship or hands-on experience in networking or cybersecurity
- Entry-level certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Security+, or CCNA
- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Familiarity with network monitoring or troubleshooting tools
- Interest in advancing toward network security engineering or cloud security role
