Candescent is currently searching for a highly motivated and experienced Area Sales Leader to support our SVP, Digital Strategy Management and the Sales team.

Responsible for revenue generation through the acquisition of new clients and expansion of existing client relationships. This individual will generate leads, develop executive-level relationships, drive new business opportunities, and support account growth by demonstrating how Candescent helps financial institutions ranging from $5B to $100B in assets achieve their digital banking and business transformation goals.

The ideal candidate is an organized, proactive sales professional with a proven track record of selling complex technology solutions to financial institutions. They must be capable of managing a robust sales pipeline, navigating complex buying processes, and prioritizing multiple opportunities in a fast-paced, startup-style, private equity-backed environment.

Key Responsibilities and Deliverables

  • Develop and qualify leads within assigned territory.
  • Execute strategic sales campaigns to successfully win new business opportunities.
  • Navigate prospective customers through vendor due diligence, procurement, contracting, and negotiation processes.
  • Negotiate and close software, services, and subscription agreements.
  • Engage resources across Sales, Solution Consulting, Product, Delivery, Customer Success, and Executive Leadership to advance opportunities and support customer needs.
  • Drive executive-level engagement and build trusted advisor relationships with key decision-makers.
  • Effect a successful handoff to Delivery and Customer Success teams following contract execution and implementation kickoff.
  • Remain actively engaged with customer stakeholders and serve as a customer advocate within Candescent.
  • Collaborate with Customer Success and Delivery teams to identify, qualify, and pursue expansion opportunities within existing accounts.
  • Maintain an accurate forecast, sales pipeline, and activity records within CRM tools.
  • Represent Candescent at industry conferences, trade shows, customer events, and executive meetings.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 7+ years of successful enterprise software, SaaS, fintech, or banking technology sales experience with a demonstrated track record of achieving and exceeding revenue targets.
  • Experience selling complex technology solutions to financial institutions, including executive-level stakeholders at banks and credit unions.
  • Proven ability to develop, manage, and close opportunities through the entire sales cycle, from prospecting and qualification through contract negotiation and execution.
  • Experience building and maintaining executive relationships with C-suite, line-of-business, and digital banking leaders.
  • Strong consultative selling, negotiation, presentation, and business development skills.
  • Demonstrated success creating and managing a pipeline of qualified opportunities and maintaining accurate forecasts within CRM systems.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple opportunities and priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-growth, private equity-backed environment.
  • Willingness and ability to travel throughout the United States, as needed to support customers, prospects, and company events.

Additional Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience selling digital banking, account opening, lending, payments, or other financial technology solutions.
  • Familiarity with banking operations, digital transformation initiatives, and regulatory considerations impacting financial institutions.
  • Experience selling into community banks, regional banks, and credit unions.
