We are seeking a Product Owner, Client Facing Tools to join our dynamic team!
The Product Owner, Client Facing Tools is a core member of the product team responsible for defining and delivering new features and enhancements aligned to the product roadmap and business objectives. This role defines product requirements from concept through delivery, ensuring solutions are clear, actionable, and grounded in real-world advisor and end user needs.
Product Owners act as product managers and subject-matter experts within their domain, partnering with UX, engineering, and delivery teams to bring high-quality features from concept to adoption. A strong understanding of FinTech, WealthTech, and financial planning workflows is essential.
This is a remote / work from home opportunity. This position is open to both Canadian and US candidates.
Duties of the role include:
- Define product requirements in support of roadmap-driven initiatives within the Client Facing Tools portfolio.
- Define, document, and evolve product requirements for new and existing features, based on business objectives, client needs, and strategic priorities.
- Provide clear direction to UX teams, including problem statements, objectives, constraints, and success criteria.
- Create high quality product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria that reflect real advisor and end user workflows.
- Maintain a prioritized product backlog aligned to roadmap commitments.
- Provide scope clarification during sprint planning to ensure shared understanding of intent and outcomes.
- Work closely with engineering and delivery teams to resolve ambiguity and ensure solutions are feasible and well understood.
- Validate completed work through business acceptance testing to ensure requirements are met and outcomes align with intent.
- Support internal readiness activities (e.g., enablement input, release communications, documentation) to ensure features can be effectively adopted by client facing teams and external users.
- Build strong working relationships across Product, UX, engineering, delivery, and QA teams.
Qualifications required:
- Hands on experience in the Financial Planning, Wealth Management, WealthTech, or FinTech domain, with direct exposure to advisor or end user workflows.
- 3+ years of experience in a Product Owner, Product Manager, Business Analyst, Financial Planner, Wealth Manager, or similar role.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in Business, Financial Planning, Product, or a related field.
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex domain concepts into clear, executable product requirements.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to make and explain trade off decisions.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience working within agile product management teams.
Nice to Have:
- Prior experience as a financial advisor, planner, consultant, or in a role directly supporting advice delivery.
- Experience training, coaching, or onboarding advisors or client facing professionals on tools or processes.
- Experience supporting product adoption, rollout, or change management initiatives with external users.
