About the Role
We are seeking a diligent, personable, proactive, responsive, and collaborative Cyber Claims Specialist to join our team in a fully remote capacity. The successful candidate will have either:
- 1–2 years of direct experience handling first-party cyber incident response claims, OR
- 3–4 years of experience adjusting first-party claims (property, commercial, or related lines) with transferable skills and a strong interest in cyber.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a start-up environment—adaptable, resourceful, collaborative, and comfortable wearing multiple hats as our team and processes continue to scale. Key Responsibilities
- Investigate and adjust first-party cyber claims, including ransomware, data breaches, and business interruption. With opportunities to
- Analyze coverage, policy language, and applicable regulations; make determinations on claim outcomes.
- Partner with insureds, breach coaches, forensic investigators, attorneys, and underwriters to drive claims to resolution.
- Establish and manage financial reserves; negotiate settlements where appropriate.
- Maintain accurate claim documentation and reporting that meet company and regulatory standards.
- Provide timely, empathetic, and professional communication to clients.
- Contribute to team development, process enhancements, and new initiatives in a fast-moving environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree required (risk management, business, finance, IT, or a related field preferred).
- JD optional
- Active adjuster license(s) preferred or eligibility/willingness to obtain licenses promptly.
- Experience requirements:
- 1–3 years handling first-party cyber claims, OR
- 3–4 years handling first-party claims with a readiness to transition into cyber.
- Strong communication and analytical skills with the ability to think critically.
- Highly adaptable, collaborative, and self-starting with a strong sense of ownership.
