Description

As an IT System Engineer at Island, you’ll play a crucial role in keeping our IT operations running smoothly, ensuring employees have the technical support they need to be productive. Your day-to-day will involve providing IT support to our team across MacOS, Windows, Google Suite, Microsoft 365, and Azure environments. You’ll troubleshoot and resolve issues, manage user accounts with Okta and Azure AD, and ensure security with tools like Crowdstrike. You’ll take part in key IT and Security projects, and assist with employee onboarding/offboarding, system upgrades, hardware setups, such as networking gear, Zoom rooms and more. You’ll also handle help desk tickets, monitor system performance, and document processes to improve efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement security controls and monitor systems performance to ensure high levels of availability, and scalability.
  • Partner with Employee Services and Security teams on cross-functional initiatives, including access reviews, compliance audits, and automation.
  • Assist IT Support troubleshooting, problem-solving, and providing technical support to end-users, managing team resources including allocation and utilization.
  • Drive global standardization of IT tools, processes, and documentation.
  • Optimization of key platforms including: Google Workspace, Okta (SSO and identity lifecycle management), Office 365, Crowdstrike, Cisco Meraki.

* The role includes engineering support, Tier-2 to our support team, provide technical support to end-customers and assist with resolving IT-related problems, along with project execution.

Requirements

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in IT systems support (AD, Google WS, M365, Jira, Confluence, Mail security, EDR, Zoom rooms).
  • Managing a cross-platform endpoint environment (Mac, Windows, Linux)
  • Proven knowledge of IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, and cloud technologies - Having an automation-first mindset.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Experience with system monitoring, troubleshooting, and security management.
  • Strong communication skills to coordinate teams and with stakeholders.
  • Problem-solving mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Industry certifications (e.g., ITIL, MIcrosoft, Okta Certified Administrator).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with automation tools like Okta Workflows, scripting (Bash/Python/PowerShell), or RPA.
  • Experience working in ISO27001/SOC2-compliant environments.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Time management and organizational skills.
