The Role
We’re looking for a Director of Solutions Engineering to lead and scale a high-impact function that is core to Middesk’s growth strategy. In this role, you’ll work cross-functionally with Sales, Product, and Account Management to shape our pre-sales motion, reduce time-to-value from implementation, and ensure customers are set up for long-term success.
While this is a Director-level position, we operate in a high-growth, execution-driven environment—so we’re looking for someone who thrives as both a strategic leader and hands-on contributor. You should be energized by building systems that scale, while actively supporting critical deals, leading POCs, and setting the standard for technical excellence.

What You’ll Do
Own and scale the Solutions Engineering function — define the strategy, build the team, and drive technical pre-sales excellence
Partner with Sales to deeply understand customer pain points and deliver compelling, tailored solutions that demonstrate the value of Middesk’s platform
Accelerate time-to-value by reducing implementation friction, optimizing onboarding workflows, and building scalable approaches to customer launches
Lead and develop a high-performing team — hire, coach, and retain Solutions Engineers who thrive in a fast-paced environment and embody Middesk’s values
Drive execution of POCs and demos — create repeatable frameworks, build internal tools and demo environments, and support high-stakes opportunities directly
Develop internal and external enablement assets, including documentation, solution architectures, and reusable technical content
Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, and Account Management to ensure customer needs are reflected in our product roadmap and support strategy
Who You Are
10+ years in Solutions Engineering, Sales Engineering, or Technical Consulting roles, including 5+ years in a strategic leadership role
Proven ability to build, manage, and scale high-performing teams—you’ve laid the foundation before and know how to operationalize for growth
Deep experience in data-focused B2B SaaS products, especially those with API-first integrations and technical stakeholder workflows
Domain expertise in data infrastructure, identity verification, fintech, or KYC/KYB
Skilled at casting vision and building strategy—you define what great looks like, communicate it clearly, and align cross-functional teams to execute
Comfortable acting as both a strategic leader and hands-on contributor—able to guide team priorities while jumping in to lead POCs or key technical conversations
Technically fluent in APIs, data workflows, and SQL—equipped to build trust with both engineering teams and customer executives
A builder at heart—motivated by the opportunity to create repeatable systems, scalable processes, and team-wide enablement from the ground up
Nice to Have
Familiarity with KYB, KYC, AML, or onboarding flows in regulated industries
Background working with usage-based or consumption pricing models
