Reporting to the SVP, Finance, the Controller will be responsible for broad ownership of financial reporting, systems, and operations including closing cycle, tech stack management, payroll, tax compliance, internal controls, audits, reconciliations, management reporting, vendor contract management, and treasury. You are not afraid to roll up your sleeves to get in the action and scale up our existing accounting function. You will be working towards high operational standards, including a closing cycle of 5 business days. A trusted partner within the business and to the executive team, the Controller will support departments to ensure we’re performing against plan and provide advisory around investments, efficiency, and growth. Key Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting & Operations: Oversee all bookkeeping, accounts receivable, accounts payable, treasury, internal controls, reporting and adhering to all regulatory deadlines around bank covenants, tax compliance, payroll, and R&D credits. We have a new accounting firm that you will partner with in executing closing cycles. This will be done in an accurate, timely, and complete manner to deliver monthly consolidated P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, SaaS metrics, KPI reporting packages to stakeholders including executive team, board of directors, investors, and banks. You’ll provide high quality commentary and recommendations in completing variance analysis, forecasting, working capital, and operating model updates.
- Financial Processes: Responsible for developing and enhancing accounting policies and workflows (e.g. order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, etc.) to align with Posh’s growth and complexity of transactions. Contribute to building the department’s handbook, new internal controls, and work towards our objective of building a world-class finance team.
- Tools & Automation: You have an eye for technology and efficiency and will be helping Posh scale up its financial infrastructure to increase automation and reduce risk of errors. You will oversee implementation and integration of new systems, improve checks and balances, and enhance controls.
- Budgeting & Analysis: Help support annual and periodic budgeting processes, including preparation, review, assigning department specific budgets, and tracking monthly / quarterly actuals vs. budget. You will conduct thorough analysis with high quality narratives to inform stakeholders on performance.
- Internal Controls & Audit: Lead the external audit process and be a core contributor to due diligence in future capital raises.
- Business Partnering / Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as a finance business partner to departments, assisting them in evaluating investment cases and reviewing their actuals vs budget. You’ll play chief investigator on any operational issues that arise. You’ll review vendor contracts and help with negotiations as needed.
- Executive Presentations: Assist in developing and preparing monthly / quarterly materials and commentary for executive discussions and board decks.
- Strategic Finance: Support the SVP, Finance and CEO in preparing for any future fundraising processes, due diligence, and company financial strategic initiatives.
- Ad-Hoc Projects: Assist in the planning and implementation of key operational projects such as new cost centre frameworks, performance dashboards, custom P&Ls by dimensions for different departments, metrics dictionary, etc.
About You
- We are looking for candidates with 5-7+ years of experience in an accounting / finance role or equivalent, having worked in full-cycle accounting. Bonus if you have previous high-growth SaaS / Technology company experience in the range of $10-25m+ in revenue.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, completion of a professional designation, or graduate degree (e.g. CPA, MBA).
- Previous experience in team management / leadership within finance and an understanding of IFRS and US GAAP as well as domestic and international accounting matters.
- You should have:

- Familiar with financial technology, our stack consists of: Quickbooks Online (soon changing), Ramp, Zenskar (billing), Salesforce, Trinet.
- A strong understanding of KPIs and metrics - you can tell the story of what’s happening in the business operationally and financially.
